Reduce cellulite and stretch marks with Hivita Luminius White

A recent study by IBR has shown that the unique ingredients in Hivita Luminus White Age Defy reduce stretch marks and cellulite while also hydrating the skin and increasing softness, suppleness and radiance.

The study
In order to prove the effects, a double blind clinical study was carried out on 24 women aged between 18 and 60 years old. All of the subjects had visible cellulite and visible stretch marks. The cream was applied twice daily on the abdomen, hips, and thighs on one side of the body, and a placebo cream applied on the other side, for a period of 28 days.

The results

  • Significant reduction in problem-area: smoothing of cellulite and stretch marks
  • Increase in skin elasticity
  • Over 30% increase in skin hydration

A sharp decrease in stretch marks is evident as well as smoothing of cellulite, as shown in these images:-

White tomato and skin pigmentation

Dark, sun-damaged and uneven skin tone are all visible outcomes of pigmentation. Melanin is the human skin pigment, and skin colour and melanin amount are directly proportional. Production of melanin is stimulated by chemicals or the sun’s rays. Melanin helps protect the skin from sun damage by diffusing the sun’s rays and preventing damage to DNA. An adequate amount of melanin is good for our skin but over production may darken skin tone.

Skin cells known as melanocytes and melanosomes contain tyrosinase. These cells, when stimulated by chemicals or the sun’s rays, further trigger distribution and production of melanin pigment. A sudden increase of melanin can cause hyperpigmentation, freckles and age spots. Certain nutrients, including the colourless carotenoids found in Hivita Luminous White, which assimilate in the skin when consumed on a regular basis, can help reverse sun damage by inhibiting melanin production, supporting skin health and lightening skin tone.

Protect your skin from pollution

According to the World Health Organization (WHO), more than 80% of people living in urban areas that monitor air pollution are exposed to air quality levels that exceed the WHO limits.

Air pollution is known to have a detrimental effect on your skin, leading to early signs of ageing including wrinkles, age spots, overall dryness and other skin imperfections.

One way to protect your skin from pollution is to strengthen your skin’s barrier and keep pollutants out. The patented ingredient in our Hivita Luminous White Age Defy Cream is a water extract of Jojoba leaves. The Jojoba leaf has adapted itself to dry desert conditions and as a beauty ingredient is can:

  • improve cell cohesion – effectively tightening, strengthening and smoothing skin
  • reinforce and repair the skin’s natural barrier
  • maintain hydration
  • reduce skin peeling
  • keep pollutants out

It is also possible to protect your skin from within. Dietary consumption of the natural colourless carotenoids phytoene and phytofluene (as found in the Hivita Luminous White Skin Lightener skin supplement) delivers direct benefits to the skin:

  • Protection against oxidative and photo damage
  • Skin lightening and even skin complexion
  • Anti-ageing overall, protection and wellbeing

Used in harmony, Hivita Luminous White cream and skin supplement can help maintain beautiful, healthy, radiant and younger looking skin, not matter what city you are in.

protect your skin from pollution

Healthy skin is beautiful skin

Healthy skin is made from the inside out: it’s a mix of sound science, healthy habits and a good skincare routine. When you combine all three, your skin will be radiant – and you’ll have greater overall health to show for it.

Three steps to more healthy skin

Step one: Be sun safe

While Australia is considered the “lucky” country, our climate is not very kind to skin, with dry, hot conditions that contribute to premature ageing – not to mention some of the highest skin cancer rates in the world. Most changes to the skin are caused by a lifetime of sun exposure. The importance of basic sun protection cannot be underestimated when it comes to healthy skin:

  • Use sunscreen regularly
  • Wear sun-protective clothing (including hats and sunglasses)
  • Seek out shade wherever possible

Step two: Follow a healthy day-to-day lifestyle

Smoking, sleep, exercise, diet and hydration can all have a major impact on skin. Some small adjustments in these vital areas could likely leave you looking – and feeling – both younger and healthier.

  • Research shows smoking ages the skin by causing collagen to degrade, blood vessels to tighten and reducing the amount of oxygen and nutrients the skin cells receive. This in turn reduces elasticity and accelerates aging. Facial expressions that smokers make also promote wrinkles.
  • Sleep is essential for the body to rest and rejuvenate; that includes skin. Sleep optimises the release of human growth hormone, which promotes cell turnover and collagen production. Skimping on sleep leaves your skin looking tired and older.
  • Regular exercise increases blood flow and the circulation of nutrients to skin cells. Exercise also helps reduce stress, and promotes better sleep quality.
  • And don’t forget to drink plenty of water. Dehydrated skin looks tired, old and dull.

Step three: Choose your products and supplements wisely

Skin requires nutrients to flourish. A healthy diet can go a long way, but the right supplementation can help take your skin health to the next level. Take anti-oxidant rich multivitamins like Hivita Women’s or Hivita Men’s Multi, plus a collagen-promoting, high potency vitamin C supplement with antioxidant support like Hivita Daily C + Zinc.

Multiple studies have also singled out a unique and natural breed of white tomato – Solanum Lycopersicum – as one of the most powerful ingredients for snatural skin lightenerkin rejuvenation. The rare white tomato is rich in Phytoene and Phytofluene: Natural colourless carotenoids known to lighten and even skin tone by reducing melanin content in skin cells. It also helps prevent oxidative skin damage and delay premature ageing.

The Hivita Luminous White Skin Lightening Collection is the first skin care range in Australia to be formulated with the rare white tomato. The two-part system includes a once-a-day supplement and a day and night age-defying cream. The two products work in harmony above and below the skin to deliver more beautiful and visually healthier skin, with users seeing significant reductions in hyperpigmentation, age spots, blemishes, fine lines and wrinkles, as well as improvements in skin evenness, elasticity and firmness.

New skincare system based on over 10 years of research

Fact: Most women would rather look young than slim

When it comes to appearance most women would prefer to look younger than slimmer.

A 2014 survey found that 41 per cent of women wished they looked younger and 20 per cent of women worried about their age every day. It also found that one-third of women feel pressure to look younger, with 62 per cent of women using anti-ageing products.

However, in their quest to look great, Australians aren’t satisfied with just any skincare product. Instead, they are looking for a quality product that delivers results.

Euromonitor International says Australian consumers are increasingly seeking innovative and effective products that contain clinically proven active ingredients. Furthermore, shoppers are more likely to favour skincare products with functional and high-tech ingredients, and those that claim to be natural.

Enter Hivita Luminous White – A breakthrough in natural, effective skincare

Thanks to 10 years of research and development, Australian women now have access to the most natural and innovative skincare system in the world, which is guaranteed to deliver visible results.

Developed in Australia under the strictest conditions, the newly released Hivita Luminous White collection has harnessed the power of a unique breed of white tomato — Solanum Lycopersicum — to deliver skincare unrivalled anywhere else in the world.

Hivita, a family-owned Australian company, is directed by two highly qualified chemists with over 60 years’ experience between them. Company owners and directors, Gorge and Stanika Jovanova, have drawn upon their experience to deliver this breakthrough in skin beauty.

The Hivita Luminous White collection is powered by the rare white tomato, free from genetic engineering and rich in colourless carotenoids which permeate the deep layers of the skin. Made from a blend of patented, 100 percent natural ingredients, the skincare system have been clinically proven to make skin lighter and brighter, softer and smoother, with reduced wrinkles and fine lines.

Luminous beauty from the inside out

natural skin lightenerThe collection features two products — an innovative once-a-day supplement and a day and night age-defying cream that work together above and below the skin.

Hivita Luminous White Skin Lightener is a skin-rejuvenating supplement that delivers premium nutrients to the skin, along with antioxidants to help reduce premature ageing caused by free radicals and sun damage.

This is the first health supplement in Australia to contain patented PhytoflORAL. This all-natural ingredient is produced by extracting the colourless carotenoids Phytoene and Phytofluene from white tomatoes, known to lighten and even skin tone by reducing melanin content in skin cells.

“Skin needs a good source of nutrition from within in order for it to be healthy, which is why we have developed the capsules,” says Gorge Jovanov. “Taking these in conjunction with the cream will yield the very best results,” he said.

Complementing the capsules is the luxurious Hivita Luminous White Age Defy cream. With ingredients like Squalane, Jojoba Oil, Jojoba Leaf extract, Photoene and Phytofluene, this cream provides a safe and natural way to maintain beautiful, healthy and radiant skin.

Stanika Jovanova says these products are made with the highest quality ingredients and contain no nasty ingredients that can cause harm or irritate our skin. “Some skin products out there make our skin look good temporarily, but long-term the nasty chemicals in these products can harm our health,” she says. “It’s very important that all our products have no side effects.”

Clinically proven

Clinical trials have shown that regular use will yield improvements in skin radiance, evenness, hydration, smoothness, suppleness, elasticity and reduced skin irritability. Skin also becomes more resistant to sun damage, more beautiful and visually healthier.

In particular, after 42 days of continued use of Hivita Luminous White Skin Lightener, 73 per cent of women reported a significant lightening effect and 77 percent reported a decrease in pigmentation. After 84 days, 82 percent of women saw an improvement in skin pigmentation.

After using Hivita Luminous White Age Defy cream for 42 days, 62 per cent of women noticed a significant decrease in hyperpigmentation, such as skin blemishes, redness and unevenness. After 84 days 90 per cent of women experienced these results. 71 per cent of women also experienced a significant decrease in age spots after 42 days of continued use.

With only the highest quality ingredients used, and the most stringent quality standards associated with Hivita, you can trust the health of your skin to Hivita Luminous White.

10 food rules for a leaner body and glowing skin

There’s a lot of truth in this saying: Its a lot easier to look good on the outside if your only putting good things in. We know it can be hard to eat well, especially when we are all under too much time pressure to prepare wholesome meals, but we’ve put together 10 food rules to help you get more of the good stuff and to trim more of the bad stuff to help you on your way to a leaner, stronger and healthier you:

Avoid added sugars, whether they’re visible, hidden as starch, or artificial.

Eat too much sugar every day and you’ll grow old in a hurry. A recent study published in JAMA found that consuming too much sugar (which most of us do) is linked to an increased risk of heart attack, dementia, Type 2 diabetes, obesity, liver problems, cancer, and more.

Sugar has many names (including sugar, brown sugar, raw sugar, dextrose, maltodextrin, starch, corn starch, and modified high corn syrup.) But not everyone realizes that bread has almost the same negative effects on the body. If you do just one thing, cut sugar from your life!

When (and if) you choose to eat bread, eat whole grain products.

Your body can’t use the refined products. If gluten’s not for you, choose whole grain gluten-free foods (such as wild rice, quinoa, and millet).

Don’t avoid fat. Instead, choose the right fats — they are slimming and good for you.

Many of us blame fat for causing obesity and heart disease, even though this isn’t true. Added sugar, starch from white bread, and pasta are the leading causes of these problems.

Your body needs healthy, quality fats for your hormones, nervous system, and immune system. It’s essential for good mood and for taste! Among healthy fats are saturated fat from grass-fed animals. This might come as a surprise, since for years it was thought that animal fat is the killer fat. It can be, if the animal is raised on grains and processed food, but NOT if the animal is fed on nontoxic grass.

Organic coconut oil is good for cooking at high temperatures, but avoid cooking with organic virgin plant oils (like olive oil and flaxseed oil), which have a lower smoke point. It’s also good to have avocado and pumpkin seed oil on the table at home.

Eat good quality protein from grass-fed animals, organic eggs, fish and plant-based proteins.

If you constantly feel tired, both physically and emotionally, you may need more protein. Good quality grass-fed animal protein, organic eggs, and wild fish are a great source of all the amino acids that the body needs. It’s a bit more of a challenge to meet your protein requirements by only eating plant-based foods, but a good combination of nuts, organic tofu, sprouts, lentils, legumes, and wild rice can do it.

Enjoy nuts, almonds, seeds, and kernels every day.

These are great snacks loaded with nutritional value. Even better, they’re perfect for combining with other foods to make healthier meals, treats, and desserts.

Eat for beauty by getting several cups of organic greens, vegetables, fruits and berries everyday.

Although nutrition experts disagree on the best way to eat, there is a consensus that we should all eat less meat and more greens and vegetables. When you optimise your food intake to include all the colours of the rainbow, you’re also optimising your vitality. Whole foods that are red, orange, green, purple, yellow and blue — they’re not only beautiful, but they send healthy messages to your body via phytonutrients that “turn on” your health-promoting genes.

Drink 1½ litres of water, as well as pure vegetable juice, green tea, and herbal tea everyday.

The human body consists of 70% water. It’s essential, period. If you don’t drink enough, you’ll feel tired, confused, constipated, dehydrated, and suffer from dry wrinkly skin. Green tea is the mothership of herb tea, rich in nutrients, a great energy booster, and an inflammation-fighter. Enjoy green tea every day! If you absolutely must have coffee or alcohol, choose only top quality and enjoy in moderation.

Eat regular meals, and never skip breakfast.

There are three major reasons why people skip meals:

  1. They don’t have time
  2. They think it will help them lose weight; and/or
  3. They have been misinformed that this can be healthy.

Unfortunately, these ideas are all wrong.

Skipping a meal won’t save you time, it will only make you tired and confused, costing you more time later as your performance at work or school slows down. Not eating in order to lose weight will switch on your biological defences, slowing down your metabolism and actually making you gain weight. The misinformation is about not honouring your body’s needs and ignoring love for yourself.

Eat several small meals a day if the standard three-meal structure doesn’t suit your lifestyle.

Eating healthy is about getting variety and eating smart food combinations. Plant-based foods should take up the most room on your plate, about 40%. The healthy fats mentioned above should make up about 30% percent of your plate, and the last 30% could come from the good quality proteins. If your personal needs require a different structure, adapt accordingly.

Take a multivitamin/mineral supplement everyday, even if you eat a healthy diet.

Most of us live in a fast-paced world filled with multitasking, pollution, and other factors that stress the body’s natural functions. Keep in mind, too, that the soil in which we currently grow our food does not have the same nutritional quality as it did before the massive “pesticides” cultivation. Minerals such as magnesium, iron, and zinc are depleted from the earth in many places around the world. We also have to face that not all of us eat organic all the time. Choose quality supplements, antioxidants, and high potency vitamin D3.

If you want to take other food supplements, you should consult a health care professional who can take your personal needs into account.

The natural anti-ageing secret

Our skin is one of the best indicators of our health. It is also the first part of our body to show its age.

Skin is our largest organ, covering our entire body. It works hard for us, being the first line of defence against bacteria and disease. It is exposed to environmental toxins and pollutants, as well as the sun’s harmful UV rays. Because our skin performs its duties so well, it’s easy to take it for granted.

However, our skin is always changing and is a great indication of how well we’re ageing.

Common signs of ageing skin

It’s normal for skin to change as we age. Common signs of ageing skin include:

  • Thinner epidermis (outer layer of skin)
  • Change in colour — (paler or translucent and pigmented spots (liver spots) may appear)
  • Reduced strength and elasticity
  • Reduced oil production making it harder to keep skin moist and supple, leading to increased dryness or itchiness
  • Skin blemishes
  • Slower rate of repair

Skin concerns for Australian women

Australian women are particularly prone to signs of premature ageing in the skin. Our hot and dry climate, along with our greater exposure to UV rays, plays havoc with our skin, causing it to age faster than usual.

Fine lines and wrinkles concern most Australian women. In addition, a recent survey revealed hyperpigmentation (darkening of the skin) and dark spots was the third-largest skin concern affecting 62 per cent of Australian women.

However, we don’t have to settle for older-looking skin. With the release of the Hivita Luminous White collection, Australian women can help turn back the clock.

A breakthrough in anti-ageing

After 10 years of research and development, the transformative power of the rare white tomato has been harnessed to bring you one of the most innovative skincare systems in the world.

Made here in Australia under the strictest conditions, the Hivita Luminous White collection has been formulated with a unique, all natural breed of white tomato — Solanum Lycopersicum — to deliver the ultimate in skincare.

Made from a blend of patented, 100 percent natural ingredients, Hivita Luminous White has been clinically proven to make skin lighter and brighter, softer and smoother, with reduced wrinkles and fine lines.

Two products working in harmony

natural skin lightener

The new collection features two products: an innovative once-a-day supplement, and a day and night age-defying cream that work together above and below the skin.

Hivita Luminous White Skin Lightener is a daily capsule delivering premium nutrients to the skin, along with antioxidants to help reduce premature ageing caused by free radicals and sun damage.
This is the first health supplement in Australia to contain PhytoflORAL, made from 100 percent natural, specifically selected non-GMO white tomatoes, rich in Phytoene and Phytofluene: Colourless carotenoids which permeate the deeper layers of the skin for clinically proven and unrivalled results.

PhytoflORAL also serves as a natural sunscreen against UVA and UVB rays to protect against damage, photo-oxidation and sunburn. It also contains anti-oxidative, anti-inflammatory and UV absorbing properties to protect and lighten skin.

“Skin needs a good source of nutrition from within in order for it to be healthy, which is why we have developed the capsules,” says Gorge Jovanov, one of the highly experienced chemists behind the Hivita brand.

Only the highest quality ingredients

Hivita will not compromise on quality, selecting and using only the purest and most effective ingredients and combining them with innovative, leading edge research. Every product, including the new Hivita Luminous White collection is formulated and made right here in Australia, to the most stringent quality standards.

Stanika Jovanova says these completely natural products are clinically proven and contain no nasty ingredients that can cause harm or irritate our skin.

“Some skin products out there make our skin look good temporarily, but, in the long term, the nasty chemicals in these products can harm our health,” she says. “It’s very important that our products have no side effects.”

Clinically proven

Clinical trials have shown that regular use will yield improvements in skin radiance, evenness, hydration, smoothness, suppleness, elasticity and reduced skin irritability. Skin also becomes more resistant to sun damage, more beautiful and visually healthier.

After a month of twice-daily application, participants reported significant improvements in skin radiance, age spots, skin smoothness, skin elasticity, wrinkle reduction and visible skin health.

After three months of treatment, the participants also said they witnessed significant skin lightening at both measured time points of 42 days and 84 days. 62 percent said they experienced a significant decrease in hyperpigmentation, such as skin blemishes, freckles, redness and unevenness. After 84 days it rose to 90 per cent. After 42 days of continued use, 71 per cent of participants experienced a significant decrease in age spots.

As for anti-ageing effects, participants reported a 43 per cent wrinkle count reduction, 19 per cent increase in skin firmness, and 29 per cent increase in skin elasticity.

You too can harness the power of Luminous White and watch your skin turn back the clock.

Eat your way to healthy skin

Everyone wants to have beautiful and healthy skin. The billions of dollars of products we consume each year is a big evidence of that. In Australia, people spend $100 billion on beauty care products alone.

Beautiful skin is more than skin deep

According to an article by Marcelle Pick, beautiful skin is not just skin deep. Whatever is going on inside your body affects your appearance. She said that in order to soothe inflammation from your skin you need to neutralise free radicals both inside and out while boosting your immune system at the same time.

“Internally, free radicals fuel inflammation. The greatest offenders are smoking, hormonal imbalance and a poor diet, including an over-reliance on high-glycemic foods, undiagnosed food sensitivities/irritants, additives, artificial sweeteners and trans fats. Smoking a single cigarette creates billions and billions of free radicals. A burdensome toxic build-up, including heavy metal and prescription drug overload, also creates free radicals,” she said.

Free radicals can be countered by ingesting antioxidants. These include vitamin C, vitamin E, coenzyme Q-10, flavanoids, carotenoids and more.

When we don’t have enough antioxidants, free radicals get the upper hand and damage the deep workings of the skin tissue — “the fibroblast cells that generate collagen and elastin, two types of protein that form the connective tissue that keeps skin firm, clear and supple” says Pick. “This destructive process is called oxidisation. Think of the way an apple turns brown when it’s exposed to the air and you’ll get the picture.”

The problem is that we are living in a chemical world – what we breathe, eat, touch and use are full of chemicals. The beauty products you use would have chemicals in them too that affects your skin.

Eat your way to healthy skin

An article from Science Daily says that our skin can benefit from the same nutrition we get from foods that have a positive effect on our heart and other major organs. In fact, the research says certain vitamins and minerals can have anti-ageing effects on the skin.

A study on the connection of skin wrinkling and food intake showed that “subjects with a higher intake of vegetables, olive oil and monounsaturated fat and legumes but a lower intake of milk/dairy products, butter margarine and sugar products had less skin wrinkling in a sun-exposed site”.

Another researcher says that eating more fruit and vegetables can make your skin glow within a matter of weeks. The research from the University of St Andrews in the UK examined the impact of carotenoid pigments found in fruit and vegetables on skin colour. The results showed that two extra portions of fruits and veggies per day created a detectable change in skin colour within six weeks.

“We hope that by highlighting the rapidly achievable benefits of a healthy diet on our attractiveness will be a stronger incentive for people to eat more healthily. Knowing you are going to look more attractive in a few weeks may be more persuasive than the promise of health benefits later in life,” the research said.

“The individuals that improved their diet over the study period showed an increase in the desired golden skin tone, while the colour reduced in those whose diet had slipped.”

Professor David Perrett, who supervised the study, concluded, “Although skin colour varies markedly across the world, we find similar effects across different cultures – for Asians and Europeans alike a good diet is associated with an attractive skin tone. The message that a good diet improves skin colour could improve health across the globe.”

These studies prove that what you put inside your body is just as important as what you put on your skin. This is why the Hivita Luminous White complete skin care system stands above other health and beauty products in the market. It is the only solution that works both inside and out, creating added protection for your skin.

The result of 10 years research and development, the new skincare system has been developed from a rare breed of non-genetically modified white tomatoes rich in Phytoene and Phytofluene; Colourless carotenoids known to lighten and even skin tone by having a direct effect on skin pigmentation and protecting the skin from damage.

The collection includes a skin-rejuvenating supplement and age-defying cream that work in harmony above and below the skin to decrease pigmentation, lighten age spots, support collagen formation and reduce wrinkles.

Skin lightening trend on the up

The desire for healthy looking fair skin is a trend that is gaining ground around the world, not just in Australia. There is currently a high demand for skin lightening creams in several markets.

According to a study released by Global Industry Analysts, the global market for skin lighteners is expected to reach US$30 billion by 2020. This is driven by the desire among both women and men to have even-tone, light-coloured skin. In fact, the demand is growing so much that the global cosmetics industry is going beyond face creams.

“In addition to skin lightening cream and lotion for the face, the retail market is inundated with skin-whitening solution for armpits elbows, arms and feet. Opportunities in the market are moving beyond women into the men’s beauty segment. With personal grooming gaining significance among men, demand for male skin brightening and lightening products is on the rise, particularly in Asia Pacific,” the report said.

Although the skin lightening market is relatively smaller in countries like the United States and United Kingdom, there is a rising demand pushed mainly by the number of migrants from Asia. The popularity of skin whiteners is increasing in this region, especially in countries like India, Japan and China. In these countries, fair skin is associated with youth, beauty and higher social status and wealth. There is also now a demand in the Middle East.

The problem with the high demand for skin whiteners is that many of these products are inferior and has various side effects. Some of these include skin peeling and acne. Thankfully, the rise of consumer demand is also pushing for advancements of safe products with superior effectiveness and better ingredients.

“Given the numerous side effects associated with the use of chemical compounds, such as, hydroquinone and mercury, manufacturers are focusing on the development of natural alternatives.”

And when people have tried an effective and safe skin scare system, they stick to it.

That is why the Hivita Luminous White skincare system is one of the best options in the market. The result of 10 years of research and clinical trials, the natural ingredients in Hivita Luminous White work in harmony above and below the skin to reverse sun damage, treat pigmentation and reduce wrinkles. The total result is a lighter, brighter, more youthful looking you.

Both the age-defying cream and skin-lightening capsules are powered by the rare and all-natural white tomato. This non-genetically modified breed of tomato is rich in Phytoene and Phytofluene, which are natural colourless carotenoids known to lighten and even skin tone by reducing melanin in skin cells.

So if you’re on with the skin lightening trend, or just want to even out your skin tone, Hivita Luminous White is the skincare system for you.

Blogger roadtest: My Hivita Luminous White experience

We invited blogger Kris from Her Collective to join us at the launch event for Hivita Luminous White and to trial the Hivita Luminous White Skin Lightening Collection for herself. Here she shares her experience and before and after photos with us.

I am a big skeptic when it comes to beauty products. Over the years I’ve had to keep my beauty regime really simple because my skin has a tendency to flare up when I use products.

So when I was asked to review the latest in skin care, Hivita’s Luminous White age defying system, I agreed. But not before reading up on the science behind it, which I found fascinating especially since it’s been 10 years in the making.

This is what I learned about the product during their launch in Melbourne:

  • Hivita Luminous White Skin Lightener is the first oral health supplement in Australia to be based on a patented ingredient called PhytofORAL, which has the ability to absorb light within the UVA/B range. It serves as a natural sunscreen, protecting against UV damage, photo-oxidation and sunburn. It also acts as an anti-oxidant to protect against free radical damage.
  • The whole skincare system is based on caring for your skin from the inside and out. Aside from the anti ageing cream that you apply twice a day, you take a daily supplement to go along with it. The colourless carotenoids in the skincare system were found from the white tomato – all natural and GMO-free. All very scientific.

When I started using the Age Defy cream I wanted something that would even out my face. I have blotches around my face and patches of darker skin here and there, probably from being in the sun. I’m not a sun person and I stay away from it as much as I can but it can’t be avoided sometimes. I like that the product has protection from UV damage and sunburn. But a couple of things stood out for me:

  • First, I had no reaction to it, which is a good sign. Usually I get a rash or red patches on my face when I try a new product.
  • Second, it was easy to apply and has no smell. I’ve backed away from previous products because it took too long to apply and it smelled too strong.
  • Third, the before and after picture (30 days later) was remarkable, even I was surprised. Blotches were fading, the lines were subtler and my skin was more moisturised. All good results.
  • Fourth, I’ve had no side effects since I started using it so that’s always a good sign.

The product’s claims are true and I think it’s a good one to invest in.

The guide to your best skin

Your skin is one of the best indicators of inner health.

Many people spend time and money to have perfect skin, but pay little heed to how their inner health, and other lifestyle factors contribute to the appearance of their skin.

Your skin’s biggest enemy: the sun

While Australia is considered to be the ‘lucky’ country, our climate is not very kind to skin. Dry, hot conditions contribute to premature aging. In addition, we have some of the highest rates of skin cancer in the world. Both factors mean that a good skincare regime is essential if you want to have healthy, glowing skin.

Effective skincare begins with protecting your skin from the sun.

Most of the changes in our skin are caused by a lifetime of sun exposure, which leads to skin cancer and premature aging of the skin. Effective protection includes using sunscreen, wearing sun-protective clothing (including hats and sunglasses), and seeking out shade.

A healthy lifestyle

Healthy skin is based on a number of lifestyle factors:

Not smoking:

Research shows smoking ages the skin by causing collagen to degrade, blood vessels to tighten and reducing the amount of oxygen and nutrients the skin cells receive. This in turn reduces elasticity and accelerates aging. Facial expressions that smokers make also promote wrinkles.

Getting enough rest:

Sleep is essential for the body to rest and rejuvenate; that includes skin. Sleep optimises the release of human growth hormone, which promotes cell turnover and collagen production. Skimping on sleep leaves your skin looking tired and older.

Being physically active:

Regular exercise increases blood flow and the circulation of nutrients to skin cells. It also helps reduce stress, and promotes better sleep quality.

Eating well:

Like the rest of our body, our skin requires nutrients to flourish, which can be obtained through a healthy diet and high-quality supplementation. And don’t forget to drink plenty of water. Dehydrated skin looks tired, old and dull.

Optimal health is key

Healthy skin is made from the inside out. Great skin is a mix of science, healthy habits and a good skincare routine. When you combine all three, your overall health will improve, and your skin will be radiant.

Hivita owner and director, Gorge Jovanov believes health is the biggest wealth for anyone.

“If you don’t have your health, you have nothing”

“Good health is based on looking after ourselves on a daily basis. Part of that includes paying attention to our nutrition.” says Jovanov.

Optimal health is what he and his wife, Stanika have in the forefront of their minds when they produce their highly-trusted, high potency nutritional supplements. Both Gorge and Stanika are highly qualified chemists with over 60 years’ experience between them. Together they founded LIPA Pharmaceuticals, which is now Australia’s leading contract manufacturer of dietary supplements and over-the-counter pharmaceutical products.

Now their focus and passion is to improve the health of Australians with their locally produced Hivita brand.

Nutrition and skincare to unveil gorgeous skin

Gorge strongly believes in the benefits of taking natural nutritional medicine. He and Stanika pride themselves in producing products suitable for all families, which provide optimal benefits to health.

Now after 10 years of research and development, they are proud to bring you a skincare system unrivalled anywhere else in the world.

The newly released Hivita Luminous White skincare system has harnessed the power of a unique breed of white tomato — Solanum Lycopersicum — to deliver the ultimate in skincare.

The collection features an innovative once-a-day supplement and a day and night age-defying cream that work together above and below the skin. These products, made from 100 per cent natural ingredients, are powered by the non-genetically modified, specially-selected fruit extract, rich in colourless carotenoids which permeate the deep layers of the skin.

Not only have these products been clinically proven to make skin softer, smoother, lighter and brighter with reduced wrinkles and fine lines, they contain no nasty ingredients that will irritate skin or harm our health.

Stanika says many products make skin look great temporarily, but they may contain ingredients harmful to our health long-term, or may aggravate the skin.

“It’s important to use products in a responsible way and ask yourself, ‘what does this do for me long-term?’,” she says. “Our health is in our hands. Sometimes we can complicate it. But really, it’s about doing many simple things, on a daily basis.”

More than skincare

A simple way to look after your skin — from the inside out, is with the Hivita Luminous White skincare system:

natural skin lightener

  1. Hivita Luminous White Skin Lightener is a daily supplement delivering premium nutrients to the skin, along with antioxidants to help reduce premature ageing caused by free radicals and sun damage.
  2. Hivita Luminous White Age Defy is a luxury beauty cream clinically proven to support skin lightening, evening of skin tone and fine line reduction.

Used together, these two products work synergistically above and below the skin to deliver more beautiful and visually healthier skin.

Gorge Jovanov says these products are more than just skincare; they benefit total health and well-being.

“A lot of people are concerned about their skin. When you have better skin, you feel more confident, positive and happy. When you are happy, you produce ‘happy’ chemicals that lead to better overall health and wellbeing.”

Australians are seeing the light

Tanning is out!

New findings from the Cancer Council’s National Sun Protection Survey show that Australian adolescents are developing healthier attitudes towards tanning. The survey said the number of young Australians aged 12-17 years old who like to get a tan dropped from 60 per cent 10 years ago to 38 per cent last year.

According to Cancer Council Australia CEO, Professor Ian Olver, the results show that most teens no longer view the “bronzed Aussie” as something to aspire to.

It’s wonderful to see teens understanding that a tan isn’t the hallmark of health it was once made out to be.

After years of skin cancer campaigning, Australia has finally heard the message. In a recent study from the QIMR Berghofer Medical Research, they found that Australia no longer has the highest per capita rates of invasive melanoma in the world.

The study found that rates of invasive melanoma in Australia have started to decline. They are predicted to keep falling as well over the next 15 years. Professor David Whiteman, who led the study, said Australia was the only one of the six countries studied where melanoma rates had begun to fall overall.

“We think the main reason for this decline is that Australia has put a huge effort into primary prevention campaigns since the 1980s,” Professor Whiteman said.

Australians have become more ‘sun smart’ as they have become more aware of the dangers of melanoma and other skin cancers. Schools, workplaces and childcare centres have also introduced measures to decrease exposure to harmful UV radiation.

To keep your skin healthy and beautiful it is important to protect it from the sun:

  • Use sunscreen where applicable.
  • Seek shade during the middle of the day when the sun’s rays are at their strongest.
  • Wear protective clothing.
  • Take supplements with colourless carotenoids that can naturally provide support to skin protection such as Hivita Luminous White Skin Lightener capsules.

Hivita Luminous White Skin Lightener contains 30,000MG equivalent of fresh fruit patented PhytoflORAL®, a 100 per cent natural ingredient that comes from non-genetically modified white tomatoes. The ingredient for this unique once-a-day dietary supplement builds photo-protection into the skin and also offers invisible protection from environmental aggressors and offers a natural sunscreen.

PhytoflORAL® is the first carotenoid precursors in the biosynthetic pathway of other carotenoids, and unlike other carotenoids, they lack any visible colour and they absorb light in the ultra-violet range, which makes them ideal for offering protection against UVA/B damage.

With regular use of Hivita Luminous White, you will notice skin radiance, evenness, hydration, smoothness, suppleness, elasticity and reduced irritability. Your skin is more resistant to sun damage, more beautiful and visually healthier.

Mature skin: key facts and useful tips

What is that cruel, defining moment when we fall over into the category of “mature skin”?

Is it when pillow creases on your cheek take a very hot shower, and half the morning to disappear?

Or when freckles spread into stubborn age spots?

Or when the girl at the cosmetic counter calls you “Madam”?

You can’t battle biology: As women’s bodies move into the perimenopause, our oestrogen levels drop off and with that comes a slow down in cell renewal, and a decrease in the natural oils the body produces that help moisturise our skin. The epidermis becomes thinner, and we stop producing so much collagen – a double whammy when it comes to wrinkles and fine lines.

So it becomes more important than ever to work with what we’ve got, and give our precious skin all the help we can: it is our largest organ, after all. And it takes a serious hammering every day.

What can we do?

And above all else: slap on the SPF Factor 15 or higher every. single. day. Make it as much of a habit as cleaning your teeth.

Beyond that, look to the products you use on your face and body on a daily basis. Check for the presence of anti-oxidants to combat the free radical damage which ages us most rapidly. Hivita Luminous White is an excellent place to start: Formulated with a breed of white tomato rich in anti-oxidants, it works above and below the skin to help reduce premature ageing effects caused by free radicals and sun damage.

Regular exfoliation supports the body’s own slowing natural cell renewal process, and there are many different approaches: a vigorous rubbing with a clean washcloth every couple of days can do the job, as would a professional chemical peel. But if your skin is thinning, maybe take a gentler route, and look for one of the moisturising, buffing products to use in the shower three or so times a week.

As far as applying your make-up goes, there are a couple of key tips for dealing with the fine lines and crows feet of aging skin:

  • Avoid piling on the foundation, it tends to cake into the creases of your skin and actually serves to emphasise wrinkles rather than disguise them.
  • Use lip liner to prevent your lipstick bleeding into the super fine lines that begin to appear around your lips.

If you want to waste hours of your life there’s a massive sub-genre of online videos demonstrating make-up and beauty tips, which will give you so much more information than we can include here.

Warning: They can be rather annoying viewing, however, as most of them are expounded by gorgeous young things who are definitely still in the cute freckle stage… Just let them wait & see 😉

DIY beauty products from the kitchen cupboard

Open any magazine or flick on the TV and you will be bombarded with images of gorgeous women spruiking the latest beauty product, promising flawless skin, hair or nails. But did you know you can look just as gorgeous concocting your own DIY beauty products?

Check out your own kitchen for everyday ingredients that make effective, tried and tested beauty treats. here’s some ideas to get you started:

Quick fix DIY beauty products:

  • Puffy eyes? Lie back with a chilled slice of cucumber on each. It really works!
  • Sensitive skin? Mash up a banana, spread over your face. Leave for 10 – 15 minutes, and rinse off. It’ll leave your skin soft and glowing.
  • Brittle nails? Soak your fingers in olive oil for 10 minutes each week, this intensive moisturising technique also helps prevent hangnails.
  • Oniony fingers after cooking? Deodorise effectively by rubbing coffee grounds into your hands, and rinsing off.
  • Cracked lips? Rub in a drop of peppermint oil – this wonder extract will moisturise your lips, and help plump them up for a bit of Hollywood glamour direct from the cupboard – and not a needle in sight…

DIY Skin invigorator:

  • The anti-oxidants in green tea mean it’s a great beverage, but next time you make a cup try brewing a teapot with 3 teaspoons of loose leaf (or 3 x teabags) and leave aside to steep. Sieve, transfer to a spray bottle, leave in the fridge and use as a refreshing alternative to those expensive atomized water cans.

DIY Body exfoliator:

  • Take ½ cup measure of used (damp) coffee grounds, and mix in a generous tablespoon of cocoa powder to create a thick paste.
  • Slap onto your body and rub in for a deliciously scented way to slough off dead skin.

Coffee contains Vitamin E – great for skin, and cocoa is packed with anti-oxidants. A possible added benefit is that the caffeine is also supposed to stimulate circulation in areas prone to cellulite.

DIY Haircare tips

  • Once again, coffee rules (for brunettes, that is): brew a pot, let it cool, sieve out the grounds, and use to rinse your hair after shampooing. So glossy!
  • For the type of blonde highlights that cost a small fortune at the hairdresser, take a leaf out of the teenage handbook – but instead of combing neat lemon juice through your locks, try the gentler, more natural look created by adding 1 part lemon juice to 3 parts warm water. Rinse through after you’ve shampooed, rub in a coin size amount of leave-in conditioner, and sit in bright sunlight for until your hair dries (but don’t forget SPF for your skin…)
  • Redheads can try a treatment of cranberry juice combined with citrus and water, or warm hibiscus tea can enhance the natural tints in your hair.
  • Apple cider vinegar rinse works well on all hair types, effective in stripping out accumulated build-up from styling products and leaving your locks silky-soft, but it’s particularly beneficial for greying hair. Combine equal parts of the vinegar and water, pour over your head and massage well. Rinse thoroughly with water, and dry as usual – no need to condition. If the scent is too astringent for you infuse the plain water with herbs before combining.

Have fun making your own bespoke concoctions. We haven’t even touched on the amazing powers of oatmeal here… Google it!

Please Note: Skin can react in many different ways, so please – even though you’re using all-natural ingredients – test all of these mixtures on a small area of skin first, and wait to see if there is any adverse reaction before proceeding.
